A Year in a Fairy Garden

I started writing a book with that title several years ago. Someday it will be finished and become a classic of children's literature. This morning I noticed the fairies had been here in the night. There was a most magical glittery trail along the floor in the bathroom leading into the bedroom. When you live in the inner city, you learn that dark smudges along the baseboard are caused by rats scurrying along the walls. Now some might say this trail was obviously left by a slug; however, there is no slug to be found! A-ah! I've missed those fairies. I'm so glad they're back!
