Feathers in the Snow

We are having a cold, cold, cold front passing through Portland. There's snow and wind and, today, lots of sunshine. I've only ventured out once since Saturday night and it was to go over to Mass this morning. There were only three of us counting the priest - four counting God. The other woman who was there told me she had to hurry home because her hummingbird feeders were freezing and the little hummers were upset. I had planned to fill my feeders this AM, too, but I'd taken down the hummingbird feeders ages ago. So I cooked up some yummy sugar water and within the hour there was a fat little hummer sipping l-o-n-g sips of water. I just assumed they would have frozen to their perches by now. Awesome!
